PokerNow HUD Advanced

Changelog

Every release of PokerNow HUD Advanced, newest first, back to 0.3.4, the first version on the Chrome Web Store. Chrome installs updates on its own.

0.4.0 Not released yet

Built and in testing. It reaches your browser when the Chrome Web Store publishes it.

  • Colored player tags: give any player your own tag, like Reg or Fish, in one of 8 colors. It shows on their badge in front of their numbers, in the player panel and in the player database, where you can also filter the player list by tag. You start with Reg, Fish, Whale, Nit, Maniac and Tilter; make your own, or rename, recolor and delete them, under Tags in the player database. A tag follows the player across names and tables, and stays in your browser and in your backups.
  • Share mode, for screenshots: one switch in the popup names seats instead of players (“Seat 2”, and “You” for you), hides your notes, and blurs the name plates, the chat and the table owner’s name on PokerNow’s page. Tags, types and numbers stay, the HUD draws at 125% or larger where it fits, and the dock shows “PokerNow HUD Advanced” with a Turn off button. It turns itself off after 6 hours.
  • Player types: after 30 hands with a player, their badge names their type (Fish, Whale, Station, Maniac, LAG, TAG, Rock or Nit) when their style fits one. Hover the type for how they play and how to play against them.
  • Reads in plain words, such as “Overfolds to 3-bets: 3-bet bluff more.” A read appears only when a stat is clearly outside its typical range, with at least 12 chances behind it. Open your own badge to see the tendencies others can use against you.
  • Notes from the hands each player showed: what they had, how they played each street and what they won or lost, with the telling ones first, such as river bluffs, light calls and slow-played big hands.
  • A fuller player panel, from the notes button on an open badge: key stats street by street and how often they open from each seat, next to their reads, your notes and the hands they showed.
  • The panel opens on the side of its badge that keeps your bet sizes and PokerNow’s buttons clear. It works from the keyboard too: Enter or Space on the notes button opens it, and Escape closes it, even while you type a note.
  • A new look: badges, the dock and the player panel have a thin light outline, so they stand out on PokerNow’s table. Badge numbers are a size larger and bolder on windows 1,100 pixels wide and up, a folded player’s badge dims its numbers, and the fold rates under your bet sizes are the biggest numbers in the dock. The open badge now labels went to showdown WTSD and shows the hand count as “412 h”.
  • HUD size: choose Auto, 100%, 125% or 150% in the popup. Auto follows PokerNow’s table: 100% up to a 1280 by 800 window, bigger on larger windows, up to 150%. Anything that would cover PokerNow’s buttons at the size you chose is drawn smaller.
  • When PokerNow’s bet box opens and leaves no room, the dock folds to one line where it is, and it’s back in full when the box closes.
  • An open badge without a note of yours shows the player’s strongest read, or the latest telling hand they showed. Two new switches in the popup turn player types and these lines off.
  • The player database shows each player’s type in the list, and their reads and the hands they showed on their page.
  • Aggression factor, aggression frequency, BB defense and win rate now fade on small samples, like every other stat (win rate under 100 hands). New read tips for aggression factor, squeeze, fold to squeeze and donk bets, and clearer ones for flop c-bets, went to showdown and won at showdown.
  • Hand logs are stored compressed, so the database takes less room. The randomizer and the import of each table’s earlier hands are always on now, a number fades when it has fewer than 12 chances behind it, and your own seat shows a badge unless you turn it off in the popup.
  • The store name becomes “PokerNow HUD Advanced: Opponent Stats & Notes”. The privacy policy is reworded and now lists the tags you give players, which stay in your browser. Nothing new is sent.

0.3.4

The first version on the Chrome Web Store.

  • Seat badges: a VPIP/PFR pill by every seat. On that player’s turn, or when you click it, the badge opens with their 3-bet, aggression factor, went to showdown and hand count, the stats for the spot they’re in and your latest note on them. Drag any badge out of the way.
  • Colors that point out who’s unusual: gold for a number well above the typical range, blue for one well below, and faded when it has too few chances behind it. Hover any number for its definition, sample, typical range and a read.
  • On your turn, a panel shows the spot, a randomizer from 1 to 100 and your bet sizes: 20, 33, 66 and 133% of the pot to start, opens in big blinds and 3-bets as a multiple of the raise. Under each size is how often the players still in fold to it, and below that who raises and who bets if you check.
  • A size button opens PokerNow’s bet box with the amount filled in, and the bet goes in only when you confirm it.
  • Notes on any player, with a dot on the pill of players you have notes on.
  • A player database with everyone you’ve sat with, by PokerNow ID and searchable by any name they’ve used: all 139 stats split by position, pot type and number of players, their notes and showdowns, your tables, and backup export and restore.
  • The first time you open a table, it brings in the hands played there before you arrived.
  • A privacy policy window opens on install, and nothing is recorded until you agree. Everything the HUD shows is read from your browser. We also do operations on hosted servers, as the policy describes.
